12/22/2023 0 Comments European FamiliesWe took a European trip in July/August....mainly to visit Adrian's relatives. Stop #1: Frankfurt, Germany This is where Adrian's Mom lives.  Stop #2: Budapest, Hungary on our roadtrip to Romania Stop 3: Romania (mainly in Vatra Moldovitei) * Joined Adrian's sister's family (Puiu, Adriana, Simone) * Met up with Adrian's Mom, Romeo + Laura, Paul + Nicoleta, Luminita + Erica and the kid's big sis Melania Stop 4: Rovinj, Croatia * Joined the Sasso Family (Nicola, Sanda, Elia, Zeno) Stop 5: Zurich, Switzerland * Visited Dan, Diana, Luna, Luis! Stop 6: Stuggart, Germany The Porsche Museum Stop 7: ended the trip in Frankfurt, Germany * Visited Alex + Ribana, Branko + Felecia! You gotta start somewhere....I don't love it, but I don't hate it either.   11/21/2023 0 Comments College Prep JouneyWe visited so many schools since Nic was so unsure where to go and we didn't know how competitive it was, so applied everywhere! His counselor suggested he applied to the University of Minnesota. He did get accepted there and also received the Presidential Scholarship! Very proud of him but he's not moving to Minnesota! Cal State - Fullerton This was Nic's first choice if he did not get accepted in SD. Acceptance Result: Nic got accepted!!! and also a chance to apply for their business scholarship (but he didn't get the scholarship)  Cal State - Long Beach Acceptance Result: Nic got accepted!!!   Cal State - Los Angeles Acceptance Result: Nic got accepted!!!  Cal State - San Marcos Acceptance Result: Nic got accepted!!!  We knew that applying to the UC schools would be harder, but he went ahead and applied to 3 and incredibly got accepted to all 3 of them - I can't believe it! UC - Santa Barbara - ACCEPTED!!! UC - Irvine (initially waitlisted but eventually ACCEPTED) UC - San Diego - FREAKING ACCEPTED!!!!!! This was my first choice!!! We visited UC - San Diego after Nic got accepted...we did not visit before cause it was a long-shot:   Then Finally, Nic was accepted to San Diego State University! This ultimately was the choice that Nic made! It took me awhile to get over turning down UC-San Diego. In the end, you just want your kids to be happy....and San Diego State was a better fit for Nic....and it is a damn good school too!   |
