I met her when she was 4, now she's 8...wow, the baby girl years are quickly passing by.
Oh, it was such a dread again this year (planning her birthday party), but at least I was smarter this year. For one, I bought the cake! So MUCH easier and super delicious.
My friend Michelle gets credit for the party theme. A "fashion show" ! She had some great ideas, but with major work projects competing for my time, I couldn't execute all of them. In fact, P's party was 2 weeks late.
It was cool to see her interact with her classmates. She was clearly the "leader of the pack"...mainly because she is a year older than they are and a head taller than a few!
They sashayed to the "Pet Shop Boys". I have no idea what music little 7/8 years old like.
The girls were suppose to bring their own dress-up outfit, but when some of the girls didn't, they had to pick from P's Halloween stuff!
I tried out the 3d paint-on-fabric to make each girl a personalized cami as a 'thank you'. Wonder what it will look like after a wash.

My recent conversation with Mom:
Mom: Did you hear that Melissa won the diet contest?
Me: No! Really?!!! How much did she lose? Chi Trang and I have been trying to lose 5 pounds and can't do it!!
Mom: WHAT?! Why does Trang need to lose weight? She wants to be a skeleton?!?!? For you, yes, I think 10 lbs will be good for you.
Me: hmmm...yes, thanks Mom.
*** No hurt feelings...interesting that Chi Trang and I are roughly the same weight, but I look 10 pounds heavier. We are built differently, especially in the face. Her face is thin...my face is huge...gotta get back to the diet thing soon. We took a little break, it was so much work stepping on the scale everyday (ha!). ****
I had a free one-night voucher at the Hilton that was expiring in a week. Not to waste it, we drove up the coast and spent a night in Huntington Beach. There are so many fun spots to pick from, but we were not in the mood to drive very far.
When I'm at the beach, I always wondered about those people who stayed by the pool overlooking the ocean...why would you stay by the pool when the ocean is right there?
We stayed by the pool for 6 hours (listened to music, flipped through magazines, napped, ate junk food, drank fruity mixes and looked at the ocean).
