7/13/2014 0 Comments world cup 2014It came to an end today.......and we are happy with the results. Had Argentina won, it would have been so great for cousin Luke....thanks to Luke and Uncle Mike, Nic learned about Messi and it's cool to see Nic's increased interest in the sport. We're rooting for Germany cause Grandma Maria is a German citizen. In the spirit of the game, Nic participated in the "world cup" tournament yesterday. As chance would have it, he got on Team Germany. In the first round, Germany played Argentina. Nic's team won 5 - 1. But got eliminated in round 2 when Team Mexico kicked our butts. Team Mexico's fanclub was hard-core.....the parents chanted and sang Mexican songs!!! Our neighborhood hosted a viewing of the finals. The crowd seemed to be 60% Germany, 40% Argentina fans. 7/7/2014 1 Comment Adrian is 43A short trip to Vegas to celebrate Adrian's 43rd birthday. We basically drove 5 hours to sit by a pool in 100 degree weather.....and drank pina coladas. Happy Birthday to Adrian -- WE LOVE YOU. Waiting for the dual fireworks show at Mandalay Bay and MGM Grand......  Firerworks show supposed to start a 9 pm....it's 9:30...show has not started, moved to a better location to get a better view of both shows.....waiting impatiently with everyone else on the strip. It's super hot outside.....desert dry heat.....ugh...  Then at 10 pm.....this happens! (side note....why does Adrian look like Anh Vinh in this picture? Strange.) Play audio for full effect:  No fireworks on this 4th of July.....  Look who's in town for a poker tournament? Met brother Steve for breakfast :)  We crashed the M Resort's pool before heading back home.  |
