8/23/2010 0 Comments summer lovin'Where did the summer go? Only 2 weeks before school starts.
Homeboy definitely needs a haircut....looks so goofy in these photos. 8/21/2010 2 Comments the climbMentioned to Adrian that I really should exercise, so we went for a really hard hike. It was really hot (80's) too. Did you watch the Amazing Race last season? The young couple that won practiced running up and down this mountain to train for that race...and it paid off. Nic called this the "tree pose"...must have learned that at preschool. ** a few more pictures under mamarazzi **
8/15/2010 2 Comments Life according to POverheard P & Nic's conversation while I was driving:
Nic: I am going to miss Mom when she's dead. P: That's OK, Nic. You will be an adult. That is Life...everybody dies. You will grow up, you will adopt, then you will die. That's Life. 8/14/2010 0 Comments O CanadaMy cousins from Canada were in town! 3 sisters: Anne (Ngoc-Anh), Anne-Marie (Phuong-Anh) and Cecile (Tram-Anh) Anne has moved to Austin for several years, but the other 2 sisters still live in Calgary. Oh...I was so infatuated with these girls when I first met them. You see, when we all left Vietnam, my family immigrated to the US, while they lived in France, then eventually in Canada. They just seemed so glamorous! They speak French, are smart, successful and beautiful (inside and out). Anne is a French teacher in Texas. Anne-Marie works in Human Resources and Cecile is a 6th grade teacher in Calgary. Interesting fact: Their grandmother and my grandmother are sisters. Their grandfather and my grandfather are brothers!!! How cool is that?!? Anne, Anne-Marie, me, Cecile

Went around and asked local businesses to sponsor the concerts so that it could be free for the public. Local bands were booked to play at the neighborhood park every other Saturday throughout the summer. Neighbors could bring a picnic and catch up with each other....drink wine and listen to music. The concerts have been a hit...going strong in its 5th year...although alcohol has since been banned (but we all find a way to sneak it in) *** more on mamarazzi ***
