12/30/2012 0 Comments Educator Excellence AwardCongratulations to my older sister who won the "Educator Excellence Award" for her school district in Conroe, Texas (North Houston).
I always knew that you were awesome at your profession. Teaching intermediate students must be an incredible challenge. It's so great to see you get the recognition that you deserve! Way to go sis!

12/28/2012 1 Comment Yellowstone National Park, WyomingThe only way to visit Yellowstone in the winter is by snowmobile because cars are not allowed. We booked a tour where we rode on a snowmobile for 90 miles through a gorgeous winter wonderland...and to see Old Faithful. I was so stressed out the whole time riding the darn thing. It wiggles and jiggles like you are riding a motorcycle which I am NOT a fan of. I was so concentrated on making the curves..the whole time worrying that I would flip it and toss Paula and me into the wilderness or over the edge into the freezing water. No seat belts, freezing cold air....for 90 miles....I'm not a thrill-seeker...I work in an office for goodness sakes. To top it off, we had to wear these ridiculously huge snowmobile jumpsuits which makes using the restroom a frustrating task. You won't find me riding a snowmobile again. Yellowstone is much prettier in the summer time. The colors of the hot springs were more vibrant in the summer. The Grand Tetons
12/16/2012 2 Comments bertisan bakerybaked Christmas cookies today... I packaged these cookies for my neighbors...added a "b" logo to pretend it came from "bertisan bakery"....and of course added Lisa's red twine which I use for everything lately. Who cares what the cookies taste like...just look at the packaging!
12/16/2012 0 Comments Weeee're off to see the wizard...This was Paula's first time participating in a school musical. She was originally cast as a 'munchkin' but ended up playing the "guard" of Emerald City. This was a low-budget musical - operated and supported by volunteer parents. They practiced 8 times after school and produced such an adorable show in such a short amount of time. Maya as Dorothy Paula's 2 minutes - I did a horrible job filming this clip: The End

12/8/2012 1 Comment Nic's Pre-Birthday CelebrationCelebrating early to ensure that his friends would be able to attend. Nic's actual b-day is 12/23. This type of birthday party is less work for me than throwing a party at home. Don't have to clean the house before the party and after the party! I bought the cake at Costco - which was delicious - so light and moist. Paula wishing it was her birthday.... With best bud, Tyler Paula's new bud, Sydney My new toy (Fujifilm Instax Mini Camera) - produces credit card/toy car size instant pictures....SO MUCH FUN! Highly recommended. Only $85. Each kid got a souvenir photo to take home.
