El Dorado

I was recently assigned to a project to put in a new plant maintenance system at the El Dorado Solar Power Plant in Nevada (40 miles south of Las Vegas). I forgot the year, but at one point in time, this plant was co-owned by SDG&E (San Diego Gas & Electric - where I work) and Reliant Energy (from Houston!).

Earlier this week, I spent a day with the planners and operators to test the new system.

It was interesting to see how others do their job. This guy is a planner who schedules maintenance jobs. He was one of the guys we tested with.

I couldn't get a good shot of the solar panels....so here's a picture from the web (not my picture) to give you an idea of how many solar panels were at this plant. As you can see, I was in the middle of the desert (115 degrees that day!)

all about Nic

some sweet moments of my Nic....

He breaks out singing in the car. I don't know this song, but here are the words (I think cause it was hard to make out what he was saying). The song sounds morbid, about dying in a car accident!

little builder

Nic constructed this bunk bed for Paula's dolls from 2 boxes. With his sister's help, they added a TV for the dolls to watch movies.

In case you were wondering what movie was on, it was: "Camp Roke 2" (Camp Rock 2).
The 3 orange things are suppose to be picnic tables.

bachelorette

I can NOT stand the girl on the bachelorette, but P and I watch every Monday night to see how annoying she can be (Bentley, Bentley, Bentley).

Once JP proposed to Ashley,
P: "great...now they are going to have sex all day"
Me: "what does sex mean?"
P: "when married people kiss"

While watching the finale, I see P logging into ABC.com.
P: I can't find the 'Apply' button.
