Meeting place: Old bed and breakfast in Leadville, Colorado where there were great family meals, including a home-made pot of pho by Michelle.  Ski Cooper (different than Copper Mountain...inside joke) Cottonwood Hot Springs We were expecting the "real" hot springs (hole in the ground) but it turned out to be built-in pools with hot spring water pumped in. The water temp was about 101 degrees. Seeing Hayden in his element brought us so much joy! Look at the smile on that face!!! It was a GREAT break after 4 days on the slopes for the muscles.

I was not in the holiday mood, but had to do all those things to make it "magical" for my kids. THEY STILL BELIEVE.....this might be the last year, for Nic for sure. Paula is a hard-core believer. Nic wondered how Santa could get into the house without a fireplace..... Through this portal, of course:   is the best ice cream I've ever had in the US! It's made in Texas.....not yet found its way to California.... until yesterday!!! I came across this ice cream stand at the Outlet mall located a few steps from the Mexican border. I cried happy tears when I saw the blue bell sign and ran up to it. The owner claimed to be the ONLY one to have Blue Bell ice cream in the whole state of California!!! And he wants $15 for the half gallon!! On a side note - did any of you watch "Weeds"...remember when she worked at a fake retail store which had a tunnel to Tijuana for smuggling drugs? This is the same mall!   Jimmy - we have 3 believers here too!   Response to Jimmy's comment: He is totally EVIL looking - here is a close up shot. He's an "Annalee" elf. He's much cheaper than the $30 "elf on the shelf" that is on the market....elf on a budget.  Here are some other "Annalee" elves. They've been around for 75 years!  |
