7/8/2010 0 Comments *At the Del Mar Fair a couple of weekends ago...we passed a booth...some talent agency. They were giving away freebies, so we stopped by. They were trying to get people to sign up to get a "free" consultation. I was somewhat interested....so I signed the kids up. Got a call to bring them in to audition last weekend. Nic was too shy to do anything, so Paulina was our only meal ticket. She was given a little commercial slogan to memorize. She was taken into a room to audition. They filmed her. I had to stay outside. After the short commercial audition, she went into another room for some "important" lady to check her out. She said that Paulina was "stunning" and "looked mature for her age". She thinks modeling for print ads would be ideal for her (flashes of Gap and LL Bean catalogs were floating in my head). Then she had P do the catwalk. P blew me away..she sashayed with so much sass...in front of about 50 people..had her serious face on...where does this girl learn how to do this....I was so unprepared, I did not tape or take any pictures. Talent agent told us to call back in a few days to see if Paulina was picked. Fast forward to the results day. They said that she had model potential and wants her to attend their school. For $1500/yr, they will teach her how to be a model and book her at mall fashion shows and various modeling gigs. After a short discussion with Adrian, we decided not to pursue this route for P. We rather she play sports and learn how to add and subtract right now. Flashes of Lindsey Lohan told me not to do this. So we declined. The agency offered to drop to $1000 if P would join them.....she kept telling me that P has huge potential for print ads (flashes of Target crossed my mind)...but no....I honestly can not be that Mom right now..I am just so busy at work and barely keeping the house together.....so sorry P if I am crushing your potential future in modeling. I was always curious of the process, so now I know. I will record her little commercial for you guys. Commercial: "My favorite drink is Kool-Aid Squeeze-It. It has a burst of Kool-Aid flavors in every squeeze".
