10/15/2012 2 Comments really?!?!?!?A series of unfortunate events....all in one evening.
Back in August, I was in a very minor fender bender. My bumper was a little squished....but no one got hurt. I waited for 2 months for the other guy's insurance to send me the money for the damages. So finally today, I dropped my car off to get the bumper fixed....I know that the insurance company should pay for a rental car, but I just don't want to deal with them so decided to take the train to Anaheim for work instead...surely, I can survive a few days without a car. Today also happens to be "Monday Night Football: Chargers vs.Broncos". The four of us saw the fabulous first half at a neighborhood bar, then went home for the second half..thinking we got the game in the bag. I'm..well, still speechless and shocked....really?! (sorry to anyone who does not know the outcome of that game...I can't even talk about it). So off to the train station to catch my 9:15 pm train. I'm suppose to arrive at 11:10pm. After leaving on time, we stopped at the very next station and heard the announcement that we are waiting for 1 hour for the football crowd....that although it is a Monday night..this particular Monday night is running on a "weekend" schedule because of the game tonight....really? Time for wine. There is wi-fi on the train so I'm totally OK with this delay. We go for 2 more stops and got another announcement. This time we were informed that the train ahead of us just hit a pedestrian....really? ...so we are stopped for an undertermined amount of time due to the investigation.... It is now 11:18 pm...time for Cup of Noodles (YES! They have cup of noodles on the train). I'm too far to call Adrian to come get me..to late to call any friends either. So I'm just sitting here updating this blog. The joke on the train was that tonight's game caused the suicide. I was able to nod off a bit, but paranoid that I would miss my stop, kept one ear opened. The conductor announced: "Santa Ana stop approaching"....I got off....uh..where's the Angels' Stadium? Where am I? I don't recognize this stop. One of the passengers told me that the "Anaheim" stop is the NEXT one...and this is the last train until morning. Really? So this same passenger hesitated then offered me a ride to the next stop. He's about 300 lbs and I'm thinking to myself that there is no way I could fight off this man if he tries to kidnap me. So I tell him that I can't take up on this very nice offer because I don't want to find myself in his trunk after the night I've been having so far. He understood and waited around to make sure the cab came. I finally hit the pillow at 2 am. Really!
